Keith Hargreaves

A UK national with more than thirty years of work experience in the field of development assistance. Last full time job was the Head of Partnerships and Policy for the DFAT funded INKLUSI programme managed by Cowater International. Before that worked part time as a Community Development Worker for Older LGBT+ Adults in MESMAC Leeds. My home base is Leeds, UK. In my previous reincarnations I have worked for four development organizations (including UNDP and USAID) and have developed skills in all aspects of project management, as well as becoming an accomplished practitioner in local and regional planning, good governance (transparency, civil society inclusion and accountability, elections), conflict management, peace-building, conflict sensitivity and gender mainstreaming. I also have expertise in trust fund management, implementing and managing a USAID compliant grant cycle, NGO effectiveness, corporate philanthropy, advocacy and NGO self reliance. I have been the chief author of the proposals that have formed the basis of several of my most recent appointments, and many more besides, which total well over US$ 100m worth of technical assistance. English is my mother tongue and I speak Indonesian very well, French very well and passable Khmer. I am just starting off with Arabic. As well as the above technical skills I would bring any organization the following competencies: a) astute staff management, mentoring and training b) discretion, diplomacy and sensitivity in all project related matters c) ability to further corporate goals d) problem solving and compromise-building abilities e) good political skills f) cultural competencies developed from working in a multicultural environment g) ability to work at all levels of society from grass roots to ministerial level.
