When a physician tells a patient that "there's nothing wrong with you," it usually means one of three things: 1) The problem is beyond our current technological ability to figure it out; 2) the doctor isn't smart enough to figure it out; 3) The doctor is too lazy to try to figure it out, or he/she isn't interested enough in your problem to spend the time figuring it out. I want to create a supportive, yet professional, environment where the patient's problem is taken seriously. If I can't figure it out, or if I don't have the skills to help, I'll say as much. INVESTIGATE: Found out what's causing the pain. I don't give up easily! While I won't do needless tests or string patients along, I want to try to get the bottom of what's causing a patient's pain. I try to do this in a rationale, predictable, and educated manner. Sometimes the answer is easy, and other times it can take extensive investigation. REGENERATE: Once I find the potential cause of the pain I then utilizes cutting edge and novel regenerative healing therapies to address that pain or injury, recruiting as much as possible the body's own healing mechanisms.
