Samuel Dimaggio

When I was a kid, I was interested in becoming an astrophysicist. I remember reading so many astronomy related books with illustrations of black holes and massive red stars. In high school, I gravitated towards reading as many books from Physicists and Mathematicians such as Michio Kaku, Stephen Hawking, Paul Dirac, Richard Feynman, Lawrence Krauss, Roger Penrose, and others. After graduating high school, I enlisted in the USAF and served for six years. For the first four years, I was an avionics technician specializing in Electronic Warfare and Computer Systems. For the remaining two years, I was assigned special duty as a Maintenance Operations Center Controller, controlling operations pertaining to maintenance of multiple aircrafts and conducting debrief obligations. In addition to my diverse work experiences, my educational journey has been deeply rooted in my childhood fascination with physics. After completing my service in the USAF, I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Physics at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. This foundational education not only strengthened my understanding of the physical world but also introduced me to the realm of programming. Through coursework in Python, R, MATLAB, and Mathematica, I discovered a new passion for coding, which eventually led me to pursue a Master of Science in Data Science at Maryville University of St. Louis, MO. It was during this time that I honed my skills in machine learning, deep learning, and data visualization, equipping me with the technical expertise to excel in roles such as Data Scientist at The Cadmus Group and Willamette Valley Company. My journey from a childhood dream of studying the cosmos to leveraging advanced data science techniques in real-world applications reflects my unwavering curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
