Aaron Rothermund's Summary

Aaron graduated the Humber Theatre Performance program with Honors, and the Acting Achievement Award. After graduating he presented two plays, "Ambiguous" (winner of Trey Anthony’s award for artistic merit) and "Charming Monsters" (which garnered two literary reviews) at the Toronto Fringe Festival. Aaron directed the play, "And Tell Sad Stories of the Deaths of Queens," by Tennessee Williams and Dave Carley’s play, “Into.” Aaron created the web-series, "Friendly Fires" based on being a non-union Actor, and it was written as the prequel for the short film, “Respect.” Aaron made three short films as part of the Script to Screen program at Centennial college. “Power Lines” and “Love Wins” are currently touring Canada, UK, and the US. “Respect” was chosen as the main class project, and Aaron was elected to direct the fully funded project to be premiered at the Hamilton Film Festival. Since the Script to Screen program, Aaron co-directed “Surprise in the Night” for Shimaro Entertainment, and produced the proof-of-concept, “Baby Fever,” which will be turned into a feature film, and released 2022. Recently he directed two short films during quarantine that are currently touring online festivals. His latest film, “The First Step” is supported by the Toronto Arts Council and VideoCabaret. “The First Step l”premiered at the Toronto Independent Film Festival, and Aaron won two acting awards for portraying an addict going through the steps of trauma recovery.
