Cheyanne Schmitt

I have worked for Hometown Senior Living for almost 6 years and was promoted to the HR Manager position in 2021. I have worked as a caregiver, a Home Manager, and the Activity Coordinator. I have loved moving up and being able to learn within Hometown Senior Living. Hometown’s mission statement is similar to my own personal mission and I strive to provide quality and compassionate care to our residents. I value the senior population and I'm inspired by hearing their life stories. From a young age, I have been exposed to a variety of generations. When I was just 3 years old, my family was visiting a nursing home. I walked up to a woman to comfort her, rubbed her arm, and said, “It’s OK, I’m here now,” and my passion for comfort has never waned. I feels that senior care is my destiny. I am drawn to working with Hometown Senior Living because of the opportunity to get to know the seniors and to show staff how to have fun at work by serving seniors well. I am excited to be leading the HR department and seeking out people that care for seniors as much as I do. I have an associate degree in business management and I am excited to be putting my skills to use to make a difference in the lives of seniors through recruitment and management of staff.
