My current position as a Sourcing Manager is a step forward in my journey in purchasing of direct material. From the start, I spared no opportunity to get deeply involved in purchasing activities and deal with a huge number of suppliers both local and foreign which greatly helped me enhance my negotiation & communication skills being always a part of negotiations of prices & all other terms of agreement. Nevertheless, I was able to acquire a considerable supplier base and connections with suppliers worldwide. In June 2013, I have ended my assignment as an order processing team supervisor in Bayer MaterialScience mainly producing industrial chemicals. For five years in Bayer, I was able to gain great experience through dealing internally with all of my colleagues from different departments in addition to my subordinates. Also I have gained great exposure through my daily activities with Shipping lines, local customers & production lines all over the globe. From the beginning of year 2006 till mid-2008, I have worked for General Motors Egypt for two and a half years in the field of automotive assembly as a productive material buyer ordering samples needed for localization plan of all new models. I also contributed to reporting any material shortages due to supplier faults and claiming free of charge replacements which greatly improved my negotiation & communication skills. It was also part of my job to study some business cases regarding cost saving opportunities.
