Possess in-depth knowledge of international standards and industry specific design norms and practices. • Planning and scheduling of discipline activities and deliverables, including man-hour estimation for conceptual, FEED and detail design. • Managing discipline work as per schedule and allocated budgets. • Managing the discipline engineers and designers to ensure schedule milestones are achieved and budgets are effectively controlled. • Acting as checker/approver (& originator where necessary) for all discipline deliverables (specifications, DC, SOW, requisitions, procedures, computer analyses, calculations, 2D drawings, MTOs and structural design reports...). • Coordinating with interfacing disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables. • Reviewing the Basis of Design (BOD), Project Quality Plans and the Project Execution Plans (PEP). • Ensuring structural compliance with structural specifications as well as applicable code requirements and national /international standards. • Preparing enquiry requisitions, evaluating bids, preparing technical bid evaluations, and managing bid clarifications. • Responsible for interface with Client and external third parties such as Installation Contractor, Fabrication and Verification Contractors, Coordinate meetings and handle responses arising from these interfaces. • Perform sizing of civil and structural steel to provide preliminary input into layout group. • Review all relevant client provided data for structural implications and requirements. • Reporting on work status/ problem areas/ needs. • Liaison with and reporting to Project Management and Client. • Perform change order scope definition, cost estimation and assist the Project Management in change management process. • Participate and provide necessary inputs for value engineering study, risk assessment study and constructability study sessions. • Review and resolve contractors’ activities related to assigned project work during construction.
