Karl Krummenacher

Strategic Advisor at Self-employed

Karl Krummenacher's Summary

I’m an advisor who loves helping visionaries build, launch, and scale companies leveraging systems, processes, and technology. My professional career started 37 years ago as an inventor, creating one of the first commercial home movie-to-consumer video systems. During the 80s, I became a partner in a B2B SaaS startup that connected PCs to DEC mainframe office networks, resulting in my first exit before 30 when Digital Equipment Corporation acquired our company. In the ’90s, I launched the first web-to-postal print-on-demand direct mail company, Rapidletter.com. In 2007, just before the last recession, my partner and I founded the nation's largest indoor cart racing facility, Grand Prix Speedways, where I lost everything and was forced to start over from nothing. Over the last 37 years, I’ve been fortunate to hold leadership roles in publicly and privately held companies, advised notable public figures, and was an Inc 5000 CEO. I’ve advised startups to Fortune 100 companies and was a guest lecturer at the John C Cook School of Business at St. Louis University, where I shared the joys and perils of entrepreneurship. I’m committed to helping business owners love their work and grow self-managed teams, freeing their founders from the day-to-day grind of the business. I’ve had a lifelong passion for systems and technology, and I love finding simple, elegant, scalable solutions to sticky problems. I’ve advised hundreds of entrepreneurs and won a few awards, including the Clickfunnels Two-comma Club award and War Room's Wicked Smaht award. I was also an Inc. 5000 CEO and Entrepreneur of the Year nominee, although the award with the most personal meaning to me was the “Go-Giver Award” presented by JJ Virgin at Mindshare Collaborative’s annual summit. As a newly empty nest father of 2 adult children, I’m looking forward to exploring what the second half can look like with my amazing bride of 25 years. Together, we’re launching a YouTube channel and will vlog our journey from empty nesters to our next adventure, sharing how anyone with a dream, at any age can build a fun, rewarding, and meaningful second half no matter when, with whom, or with what they are starting.
