Dr. Keyur Parmar is an assistant professor at Computer Science and Engineering Department of S. V. National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surat, India (an Institute of National Importance). His research interests broadly include Information Security and Blockchain Technology. He is also interested in other research areas where there is a need for security and/or decentralization such as Security in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) or Security in Internet of Things (IoTs). A number of reputed national and international journals and conferences have published his research articles. Dr. Keyur Parmar has coordinated many workshops in the areas related to his research expertise. In addition, he regularly delivers exert talks related to his research interests at many institutes/universities. Currently, he is working on a research project, titled, “Design and Analysis of Secure and Efficient Smart Contracts using Blockchain Technology”, funded by NIT, Surat, as a part of Seed Money/Research Grant (Rs. 9,30,000/-) . In addition, he supervises two PhD students and many B.Tech./M.Tech. students in the areas of his research interests. He supervised many B.Tech. and M.Tech. students in the last few years. As an assistant professor, he is also involved in teaching to B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. students. His teaching interests mainly include subjects related to Information Security, Cryptography, and Network and System Security. He is also interested in teaching fundamental computer science subjects such as Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Data Structures, and Fundaments of Computer and Programming. Prior to joining NIT, Surat, he was an assistant professor at Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Vadodara, India. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Engineering, NIT, Surat, India. While pursuing his Ph.D., he worked in a DeitY, Govt. of India (now, MeitY, Govt. of India) sponsored research project as a senior research fellow for more than three years. His Ph.D. thesis, titled, “Secure In-network Processing of Encrypted Data in Wireless Sensor Networks”, mainly comprises techniques to mitigate security issues in resource constrained environments such as Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). He presented his doctoral work at the IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium 2015 and won the prize and the citation.
