Rachel Forster founded her design practice, Forster Inc., 27 years ago specialising in architecture, interior and product design. Always on a mission, not just to push the conversation around sustainability, but to put into practice regenerative and ethical solutions to interior design projects, Rachel is dedicated to developing ideas around the circular economy. Forster Inc’s work revolves around residential and commercial spaces constantly accessing new and responsible ways to create liveable and workable interiors. Problem-solving is at the heart of the practice and clients frequently commission Rachel on the strength of her ability to design interiors that demonstrate longevity and creativity. In an effort to encourage clients to become part of the process, Rachel founded SortedLondon to change customer behaviour around waste. Assorted unwanted materials and products from Forster Inc. projects are reused rather than incinerated or sent to landfill, offering clients an important and trusted service. Since 2023 Rachel is working with award winning social enterprise Yodomo, the leading textile reuse hub in the heart of Hackney. Rachel employs her expertise to provide insight on the circular economy specifically looking to reduce textile waste in the interior design industry, through redistribution of materials to Yodomo's maker community. Rachel graduated from Kingston University with a Bachelor of Arts (BA), interior design followed by an MA, interior and spatial design from the Royal College of Art. Rachel has taught Interior Design at the Royal College of Art, UAL, Central Saint Martins, Instituto Marangoni, Kingston School of Art and The Interior Design School. www.forsterinc.co.uk www.yodomo.co
